Visit to Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoIT&T)

Surveyor General called on Secretary, MoIT&T on 27 Oct 2025. During the meet, Surveyor General apprised the Secretary about the role and tasks of SoP and various projects undertaken by the department. He also dilated upon the New Geodetic Datum Project currently underway at SoP and the development work started for Pak-NSDI. SoP presented a project proposal to the Secretary regarding provision of geospatial layer to the Islamabad Smart City initiative being undertaken by the Ministry.

MoIT&T’s possible assistance to SoP in developing Islamabad Digital Twin model also came under discussion along with the value it will create for CDA and people of Islamabad. Various facets of this project and NSDI were thoroughly discussed to determine possible avenues for collaboration between  MoIT&T and SoP in future
