Visit to Punjab Board of Revenue and PDMA Punjab

Team from SoP called on the Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), Punjab on 14 October 2025 as part of an outreach initiative to enhance collaboration between SoP and Government of Punjab. The visit focused on exploring opportunities for SoP to provide geospatial data and mapping services to the department. The Surveyor General highlighted SoP’s ongoing initiatives, including the establishment of a national geodetic reference framework to improve positional accuracy nationwide which can assist SMBR Punjab in effective land management. He also showcased SoP’s technical capabilities such as high-resolution UAV imagery, 3D mapping of cultural sites and thematic/ topographic mapping. Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in flood mapping and digital transformation of revenue management system.

Later, SoP team met with DG PDMA Punjab and representatives of Urban Unit, Government of Punjab. Proposal regarding joint development of a Geospatial Flood Early Warning System project for Punjab was discussed which can greatly assist PDMA Punjab in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). SoP team agreed to share a Draft Project Concept Note for this DRR project with PDMA and Urban Unit shortly.
