Visit to OGDCL

A high-level meeting was held between the technical delegations of Survey of Pakistan (SoP) and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) at OGDCL head office to explore avenues for institutional collaboration in geospatial technologies application for use by the company. Both teams discussed provision of precise geodetic and positioning services by SoP for OGDCL’s operational requirements, preparation of optimized pipeline route alignments with corridor mapping, development of 3D digital twins of infrastructure using high-resolution mapping and establishment of an enterprise-level GIS platform for operational planning and asset management. Capacity-building initiatives including customized training programs for OGDCL officers at the Survey Training Institute were also delved upon.

MD OGDCL acknowledged the role which can be played by SoP to assist OGDCL in optimizing the company’s operations and management paradigm with respect to its pipelines and other infrastructure. Both sides agreed to further explore practical modalities for implementation of above-mentioned proposals by SoP
